Mhairi is passionate about teaching and started her adult life as a music lecturer for Lews Castle College, Benbecula in the University of the Highlands and Islands.  For over twenty years she has been a professional musician and she still continues to teach regularly.  She has run several piano masterclasses for advanced pianists, so if you would be interested in attending one of her courses please keep an eye on her website.
Mhairi has worked at two of Scotland's National Centres of Excellence.  In Plockton Music School, she has been a tutor for over twenty years.  She teaches final year S6 students mostly in the recording studio focusing on studio and production skills as a musician but helps to cover a variety of music subject in the school.  She also worked in Douglas Academy, Milngavie for several years where she was the Traditional Music Expert within the music school.  There, she taught the classical music students different traditional performance techniques, arranging, improvising and playing in a group as well as the history and culture of the music.

Brought up playing music through the Fisean movement she is a supporter of her local fis, Fis Sp.

Mhairi occasionally offers private tuition, and one-off master-classes.  If this is something that you are interested in please get in touch via email: info@mhairihall.com
